Mission

Our Mission, Vision & Values

Before being a creative artist, sculpture, and programmer Ivan Guaderrama is a passionate and committed lover of God who seeks to fulfill his greatest call: To be an instrument in God’s hands to proclaim His wonders. Surrendering everything he does together with his brilliant and beautiful wife Imelda and their dynamic and talented team.

How Our Values Show in Our Work

The five values listed above are not slogans. They show up daily in how Ivan Guaderrama Art Gallery makes, presents, and ships artwork — and in how the team relates to each visitor, collector, and corporate client we serve.

Faith is visible in the subject matter of much of the work itself. Series like Smiling Jesus, the Angel Paintings, and the broader Christian art catalog were not chosen as a market category — they emerged from Ivan’s personal walk of faith and his conviction that joy, hope, and reverence belong together in the same canvas. Even our non-religious work — the Heart Series, the abstract pieces — carries the same underlying commitment to dignity, beauty, and human worth.

Love shapes how the team works together and how we treat visitors. The gallery is intentionally open, welcoming, and unhurried — first-time visitors are not pressured to buy, returning collectors are remembered by name, and corporate clients are treated as partners rather than transactions. The Heart Series in particular is the most direct artistic expression of this value.

Joy drives the visual direction of the gallery. Ivan’s work consistently chooses joy over solemnity, hope over weight, lightness over heaviness. The Smiling Jesus Collection is the clearest example — most historical depictions of Christ emphasize suffering or solemn authority, while Ivan’s work intentionally centers on the joy that Scripture attributes to him.

Honesty shapes how we describe, price, and ship the work. Every original is signed and certified. Limited editions are tracked and disclosed. Provenance, materials, and dimensions are accurate. When something is a reproduction we say so plainly; when something is an original we say so plainly. Past collectors trust the gallery because the language matches the object every time.

Innovation is the value most visible in the Interactive Art program. The Ivan Guaderrama Art Gallery was an early adopter of augmented reality as a layer on top of original oil painting — the AR application activates animations, sound, and contextual narrative when a smartphone is pointed at compatible pieces. Innovation also shows up quietly in our embedded-sensor canvases, our materials research, and our continuous experimentation with how a painting can extend its experience beyond the static surface.

Our Team

The work shown in the gallery is not produced by a single artist working in isolation. Ivan Guaderrama Art Gallery is a small, multidisciplinary team that combines artistic, technical, and operational disciplines under one roof. The team includes the lead artist, his wife Imelda (gallery operations and brand direction), gallery floor staff and customer service specialists, sales and commissions coordinators, production assistants for limited editions and shipping, and the technical team behind the augmented-reality application and embedded-sensor pieces.

You can meet the full team on our Meet the Team page, which includes individual profiles for the artists, gallery staff, customer service team, and operations leads.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Ivan Guaderrama Art Gallery different from other galleries?

Three things consistently come up in visitor and collector feedback: the joy-centered visual direction of the work, the interactive augmented-reality layer in select pieces, and the unhurried, faith-anchored hospitality of the gallery itself. The gallery is also distinctive in being both an artist-led studio and a fully operating commercial gallery — the artist is often on site to meet visitors, especially during the Thursday Art Walk in season.

Why interactive and augmented-reality art?

Innovation is one of our stated values, and the augmented-reality layer is the clearest expression of it. The question Ivan asked himself in his studio around 2014 was simple: if technology can extend almost everything we do, why hasn’t it extended the experience of a painting? The result is a body of work that begins as traditional oil on canvas and becomes, when a smartphone is pointed at it, an animated and audio-enriched experience composed by the artist himself.

How do you ship original artwork to international collectors?

Originals are crated to custom dimensions, insured for full declared value, and shipped via tracked international freight from the gallery in San José del Cabo. Past originals have shipped to private collectors in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Europe. Smaller-format prints and canvas reproductions for US and Canadian collectors are produced and shipped from a US fulfillment partner for faster delivery.

How does the commissions process work?

Custom commissions — both individual pieces and corporate or hospitality projects — typically start with a brief conversation about the space, the theme, and any specific text, palette, or scale you have in mind. We then return a concept proposal and a production timeline (typically 4 to 16 weeks depending on size and complexity). The piece is produced in Ivan’s San José del Cabo studio and shipped or installed on completion. Contact info@ivanguaderrama.com or call +52 624 189 1144 to start a conversation.
