Some of my paintings hide a circuit. You won’t notice it when the piece hangs on a wall, but you can feel it: touch the right spot and the artwork answers with sound, music or light. I have been building that quiet layer of electronics and code into my art for years, and it is also the reason I’ll be on stage at Digital Day Los Cabos on October 26, 2026.
The talk is called “Fewer tools. More results.” Its subtitle explains the promise: from idea to finished project with Claude and Codex. After the talk comes a workshop, so the method doesn’t stay on the screen. Here, on my own site, I want to tell the longer story behind it: how an artist who solders circuits ended up giving a talk about AI agents.
The Gap Between Having AI and Finishing the Work
When I announced the talk, I summed it up in two lines:
Having access to AI is one thing. Getting the work finished takes a method.
Almost anyone can open an AI chat today. What is still rare is a project that reaches the finish line. Painters understand this well: a few brushes you truly master will take you further than a drawer full of new ones. That is what the title means to me, a short list of tools you know deeply and a way of working that carries an idea all the way to the end.
Claude and Codex sit at the center of our process. With them we build software, set up automations and produce content, and at Digital Day I’ll show real cases of each.
Where It Started: Circuits, Touch and Augmented Reality
One of the stories in my talk is personal: my workbench, a soldering iron and the circuits that end up inside some of my pieces.

Those circuits are what make certain originals touch-activated, so they respond with sound, music or light. I like to call them the intelligent brains within my pieces. Electricity was already part of my process in 2010, when I developed Glass Expression, a technique that applies resins, color and electrical effects to glass.
Then came code. Since 2013, I have taught myself programming, mobile app development and augmented reality, and I built the Ivan Guaderrama Art Gallery app for iOS and Android. Through the camera of a phone or tablet, it reveals the animations and sound hidden in my augmented reality paintings. If you want to see both layers together, touch and AR, my interactive art page is the best place to start.
Working with AI agents feels like the next bench in the same workshop. The tools are new, but the habit is the one soldering taught me: understand how each part works, connect them, test, and try again. And one thing has not changed at all: my paintings are made by hand. The AI I’ll talk about works around the art, on software, automations and content, never on the canvas.
From One Agent to the Next: What’s in Cabo
The clearest example I can share is What’s in Cabo, a new Los Cabos travel guide and directory I’m building with partners. It’s written in English and covers restaurants, hotels, beaches, tours and events, plus a Cabo Passport and a newsletter.
At Digital Day I’ll use it to explain what I call continuity between agents. The work starts on What’s in Cabo, moves to social media and from there to LinkedIn and Instagram. What matters is the handoff: each step begins where the previous one stopped, inheriting its context and its material instead of starting from a blank page.

For a destination like Los Cabos, that continuity is practical. A good restaurant listing or beach guide only helps when it reaches the people planning their trip, and keeping that path connected is exactly the kind of work where a few well-chosen tools make the difference.
Digital Day Los Cabos in the VIP Summit’s 20th Year
This year marks the fourth edition of Digital Day Los Cabos, organized by FITURCA / Visit Los Cabos around a single theme: Marketing in the Age of AI. Attendance is by invitation only, and the day will be held on October 26, 2026, at Hacienda del Mar Los Cabos. Digital Day takes place during the Los Cabos VIP Summit 2026. The Summit marks 20 years in 2026, with three days at Hacienda del Mar, an Autograph Collection resort, from October 25 to 27.
I’ll be speaking as founder of Ivan Guaderrama Studio. My session has two parts: first the talk, then a hands-on workshop where we put the method to work.
From FITUR in Madrid to Digital Day in Los Cabos
This invitation means a lot to me because of where it comes from. In January 2023, I had the joy of promoting Los Cabos at FITUR, the International Tourism Fair in Madrid, alongside representatives of our destination, including FITURCA, the Los Cabos Tourism Board. I took my interactive walls to Spain, and you can still read about that week at FITUR Madrid.
My thanks go to FITURCA for this invitation, and for bringing practical uses of AI into the conversation about tourism in Los Cabos.
If you want the longer story of my path as an artist, from Chihuahua to Los Cabos, my biography tells it in full. And to everyone joining us at Hacienda del Mar: see you on October 26.
